One of the key events at the recent Golf Industry Show in San Antonio was a daylong promotion of “Zoysia as a Game Changer.” The final statistics are in, and they show just how much of a resounding success the event was — and how much interest that zoysiagrass is generating in the world of golf. Notably, 255 attendees represented 25 U.S. states and 20 countries!
U.S. states represented included: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
International countries represented included: Bali, Barbados, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, Vietnam and the Virgin Islands.
In addition to hosting a panel discussion with zoysiagrass experts, the event included tours of Bladerunner Farms (the world’s largest independently owned zoysiagrass breeding facility, and breeder of the Zeon Zoysia featured on the 2016 Olympics golf course in Rio de Janeiro) and the Golf Club of Texas, which will reopen this spring after a renovation project that includes re-grassing the greens with LF1 Zoysia, tees with Zeon Zoysia and fairways and roughs with Jamur Zoysia.
