Now is the Time for Patching

You’ve made it through the steamy summer, and you may have some patchy looking places in your lawn. Those might be due to disease or high traffic, but now is the time to repair those spots. Early fall is the best time to establish new seed because there is still enough warmth to encourage grass seed germination (just trust us.)

Fall is also a great time because weeds typically do not germinate until spring, so this gives your seed plenty of time to mature before competing with weed seeds.

Make sure your soil is properly prepared by tilling compost into the topsoil, then aerate and sow your grass seed. Be sure to provide enough moisture for your turf to take root and weather the coming colder season. Next spring, you’re sure to have new turf in those bare patches.
