The ReAlta community in Charlotte is the first in the state of North Carolina to exclusively require TifTuf Bermudagrass to be installed at all homesites. The fully solar community in the city was distinctly designed to save both the environment and homeowners’ money. “[ReAlta homeowners] will have the satisfaction of knowing that they’re doing something to reduce their carbon footprint and limit the amount of water they take from the Catawba,” said the owner of the building group.

In addition to the article about the community, the web post includes a seven-minute video with Dr. Brian Schwartz (one of the TifTuf’s developers) explaining TifTuf’s drought tolerance, traffic recovery and shade resistance. The video is presented by Buy Sod, NG Turf and Super Sod.

In the United States, TifTuf Bermudagrass is licensed to sod growers by The Turfgrass Group.
